With the new year comes additional news. GSS&C partner Richard E. Guilford was honored for his years of dedication to GSS&C and CIGA. Effective January 1, 2012 Richard has retired his active partnership with the firm. He remains with us as of-counsel and continues his work on special projects and appellate matters.

GSS&C also welcomes associate attorney Michael G. Glover as the newest member of our workers' compensation litigation team. 

December 2011

GSS&C welcomes new associate attorney Kimberly Poese. Attorney Poese has joined our workers' compensation litigation team.

November 17, 2011:

Richard E. Guilford to argue before the California Court of Appeal, Second Appellate District on the Anastasia Jenkins matter. Jenkins involves CIGA's statutory defense against lien assignments.

October 14 & 28 and November 4, 2011:

GSS&C Partners Richard E. Guilford and Frank E. Carbonara to speak at CIGA's 2011 General Training seminar in Sacramento, Newport Beach and Glendale. Their topics are to include CIGA defenses, UR and MPN updates, considering Medicare's interests in cases not meeting the CMS review thresholds and defending high-exposure home health care liens.

June 2011:

Partner Richard E. Guilford honored at California Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney Association (CWCDAA) annual summer conference in Los Vegas.

July 25, 2009:

GSS&C Partners Richard E. Guilford and Frank E. Carbonara to speak at CIGA's 2009 General Training in Sacramento, Glendale and Newport Beach (July 30 & 31 and August 14, 2009). Mr. Guilford will present a CIGA case law update discussing recent important cases on the issues of general-special employment, reimbursement claims against CIGA, EDD claims and the development of CIGA's defense against liens by assignment. Mr. Carbonara will speak to the use of clinical pharmacy reviews to mitigate liability in workers' compensation, handling Medicare Secondary Payer claims and will be joined by CIGA's MPN and UR Manager Barbara Hester to discuss CIGA's MPN litigation update.

July 23, 2009:

GSS&C welcomes its newest associate attorney Jamie A. Blunt. Attorney Blunt has joined our workers' compensation defense department and will focus on the defense of CIGA cases.
